Reading for Families (ReadNowBC)

Bring required documents to a StrongStart centre for scanning and verification.

Please note:

Registration is NOT complete until you bring your documents to a StrongStart centre.

Your child will NOT be able to attend our StrongStart program until she or he is fully registered.

FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN Information Meeting, hosted by SD43 DPAC

SD43's District Parent Advisory Council is hosting an information meeting for Tri-Cities parents interested in the up-coming transition to full-day Kindergarten in 20 of our local schools (beginning in September 2010).

The meeting will take place at Riverside Secondary School (cafeteria/multi-purpose room) on Thursday, January 28th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Registration is required and free child-minding for toilet-trained toddlers will be provided.

SD43 DPAC Kindergarten Information Meeting

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION for September 2010

Registration for SD43 Kindergarten programs beginning in September 2010 will take place in all elementary schools on February 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

The registration process is similar to that for StrongStart, however, for kindergarten, parents must register their children in person at their home school and bring appropriate documentation to provide proof of citizenship/residency, proof of address and proof of child's age (even if these have already been provided for StrongStart; documentation must be up-dated.)

Registration Information

Thank you to the many families who have been coming out to register at our StrongStart centers, and to those who have registered online! The response has been pleasantly overwhelming!

If your registration process is not yet completely in order, please know that you are still welcome to attend one of our StrongStart centers. You will not be turned away! Please feel free to bring your registration form and/or documentation with you on one of your initial visits to a center. Our facilitators will be happy to assist you during program times.

Please find attached, for your information, a PDF copy of the Welcome Package we make available to parents in each of our centers.

Center Closures

From time to time our centers close for Professional Development days, program planning or for cleaning. We thank you for your patience as we tend to these important aspects of our program operations.

Occasionally, a center may close if a facilitator is ill and a replacement cannot be dispatched. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause when such a situation arises.

Maillard Relocation

Due to seismic upgrades scheduled for Maillard Middle School, the entire campus, including our StrongStart center, will temporarily relocate to Vanier School for the 2009/2010 school year.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new larger Vanier center this year! Vanier School is located at 1600 King Albert Avenue, just off of Poirier Street and across the street from SD43's Board Office.
